This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice to anyone. Those answers come from the issuing court or from the sheriff's office that holds the matter, and the counters below are where to ask.
Need Official Warrant Information?
Most warrant questions in Livingston County land in one of these four places:
- Whether a warrant exists: the 53rd District Court, which posts the county's open-warrants document and can confirm a district matter by name and birth year
- A bench warrant for a missed court date: the court that set the case, since that court issued the warrant and holds the file
- Resolving or clearing a warrant: a licensed Michigan attorney and the issuing court, which handle recalls, surrenders, and bond
- A sheriff report or county record: the Sheriff's Office Central Records unit or the county FOIA process, not the court clerk
For district matters, the warrant-facing court is the 53rd District Court at the Howell Judicial Center, 204 S. Highlander Way, Suite 1, Howell, MI 48843. The court phone number is (517) 548-1000, and the email is districtcourthowell@livgov.com. Its posted warrant-resolution window runs 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. on court days, and its criminal matters page links the current open-warrants document.
Circuit felony files and family matters go to the County Clerk's office, which serves the 44th Circuit Court. Reach the clerk at 200 E. Grand River Ave., Howell, MI 48843 or (517) 546-0500, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The 44th Circuit Court's own number is (517) 546-3060, and it also hears cases at the Brighton courthouse at 224 N. First St.
The Sheriff's Office sits at 150 S. Highlander Way, Howell, MI 48843, and its main line is (517) 546-2440. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For jail custody or bond questions, call (517) 546-2445. For anything that is not an emergency, dispatch can be reached at (517) 546-9111. Court records themselves are requested from the clerk under the Michigan Court Rules, while county agency records such as sheriff reports run through the county's online FOIA portal.
